A Beautiful Mess DIY Circular Mat

After seeing this post on A beautiful mess i googled every possible search word to find out if i could buy a similar rug like this anywhere but i couldnt find anything. I decided to buy some wool and try my hand at making one and i think it turned out quite well. The steps on how to make it were really easy to follow and although i chose to keep the colours as close to the orginal as possible you could use any colours you would like. I bought the wool from The wool warehouse they have so much choice in colours and thickness and the prices are really cheap depending on what you want, all of my wool came to around £17 with postage. The pom pom trim i got from hobbycraft, i havent linked the site because you can only buy from store but its £2 per metre. Anyway, im really happy with it, i might try and make another one but a little bigger.

Happy Thursday.

Tonight i seem to have come over all festive! Possibly because i caught my mom watching the worst christmas film ever made this afternoon, i don't even know what it was called but it was American and it was pure camembert cheese, so so cringey about 2 neighbours competing against each other over having the best christmas lights, there was also a teenage love story involving the daughter of one neighbour called suzy and the son of the other called chip. I say no more. As well as that god awful movie she also watched several of Jamie Olivers christmas programmes (which i enjoyed watching.)
So once all of this was over i ended up painting a reindeer onto my nail just messing around but then i thought hmm apart from his wonky nose i actually think i did quite well, so off i went and carried on with a candy cane. I wasn't thinking about blogging them so i didn't photograph the process but i basically just cut up thin lines of selotape to do the candy cane and also to do the reindeers nose. The glitter i got in a pack from the range (such a good homeware shop!) All i did was put on a clear base and then sprinkle over the glitter, so simple! To do the antlers i cut a cotton bud in a diagonal and used to point to dip in the black barry m varnish and voila!
Festive Fingers :)

feather hair

headband - h&m

I bought this headband from work aggggggggggggessss ago, it was £1.99 or something like that, i bought it online so i didn't know how long the feathers were and when it came they were too short, it looked like i was wearing one earring, i didnt like the way the headband looked either, i thought it was a bit young looking AND they give me a headache anyway. SO i took apart the feathers and attached them all together to make a long line, the links were indestructable, usually they are so easy to bend and pull apart but they were solid so it took a while and i had to get my primark nail scissors involved, to put it in my hair i just stuck a grip through the end and NOW it's the length of my hair. :) cant wait to wear it on holiday and when it's warmer. Going to stratford tomorrow so i hope the weathers like it was today (whilst i was at work alllllllll day) excited to hire a boat, drop the ore in the river, get stuck in the reeds and probably crash more than once.
